Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow and gentle way of practicing Yoga developed by Mr. Paulie Zink – Yoga teacher and martial arts expert. With this type of Yoga, postures are kept from 45 seconds to 2 minutes. Experts believe that this time period will put pressure on connective tissue, increase flexibility, increase circulation and respiratory system. Keeping a posture for a long time requires the practitioner to have perseverance and high will, focusing on the breath similar to the way of meditation.
Yin yoga is often practiced in a heated room to help your muscles become more elastic – an important condition to keep the body flexible for long periods of time.
Restorative Yoga
As its name suggests, Restorative Yoga promotes the body’s healing process, helping the body rejuvenate and relax. Unlike a series of continuous movements of many other types of Yoga, Restorative Yoga usually focuses on only five or six postures. Each posture is often supported with virtues such as pillows, practice bands, blankets, etc. to help you complete the postures without excessive stress.
If you are struggling with insomnia, anxiety, or stress-related illness, Restorative Yoga is right for you.
